08:10 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates to add UBS' statement) UBS (UBSG.SW) plans to continue operating as a global bank from Switzerland, in response to a call from a top-20 investor for the lender to move out of the country. "UBS will protect the interests of its shareholders by continuing to contribute facts and analysis to support informed decision-making and advocating for regulation that is truly targeted, proportionate and internationally aligned, and addresses the root causes of the Credit Suisse crisis," the Swiss bank said in a Thursday statement to MT Newswires. The response follows an open letter from US asset manager Artisan Partners' global value team and International Value Group. The investor called on UBS to relocate after Switzerland's upper house of parliament approved proposed tougher capital requirements for the bank, Reuters reported earlier the same day.
