Thailand plans to expand the proposed household solar subsidy program from the initial 50 billion baht to a maximum of 75 billion baht, and relax the scope of eligibility to no longer be limited to roof installations. According to Deputy Minister of the Interior Polapee Suwunchwee, the plan aims to cover as many as 1.5 million households: the first phase covers 1 million households, with a subsidy of 50 billion baht; then 500,000 households, with a subsidy of 25 billion baht. The government plans to provide an installation subsidy of 50,000 baht per household. Registration is expected to begin on November 1.
