03:03 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority provisionally found that Nexfibre's proposed acquisition of Substantial Topco could substantially reduce competition in the wholesale supply of fixed broadband services. The regulator is inviting the companies to submit a remedy proposal within the next 14 days, as well as feedback from other stakeholders by Oct. 23, according to a Friday release. A final decision is expected on Dec. 15. Nexfibre is a joint venture between Telefónica (TEF.MC), Liberty Global and Crown Infra Bidco, an entity wholly owned by funds managed by InfraVia Capital Partners.
