Goldman Sachs Group received an underwriting fee of about US$100 million for leading SpaceX's initial public offering in June, and collected large incentive fees for arranging SpaceX private equity investments for high-net-worth customers in the early years. Some partners also participated in early investments with customers. According to people familiar with the matter, SpaceX went public at a valuation of about 1.77 trillion US dollars, and Goldman Sachs customers who sold their shares received significant benefits, and banks received hundreds of millions of dollars in incentives as a result. Goldman Sachs treasurer decided to use this windfall revenue, which was not included in previous financial forecasts, to make charitable donations in advance to improve tax efficiency; CEO David Solomon hinted at the end of last month that the company would advance charitable expenses for many years “in a very, very tax-efficient manner.” The arrangement is expected to boost non-compensation spending for the third quarter announced on October 13. The total underwriting fee for SpaceX's current IPO is about 500 million US dollars, corresponding to the 75 billion US dollar fundraising rate of about 0.67%. If the Green Shoe option is used to sell an additional 11.25 billion US dollars of shares, SpaceX will not have to pay additional fees.
