Hogs Bouncing into the Weekend

Lean hog futures are posting grains of 32 cents to $1.25 in the front months on Friday.  USDA’s national base hog price was reported at $77.25 on Friday morning. The CME Lean Hog Index was back down 24 cents on September 30 at $80.71. 

USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was up 81 cents in the Friday morning report, at $86.10. The but, ham, and rib primals were reported lower. Federally inspected hog slaughter for Thursday was estimated at 493,000 head, with the weekly total at 1.949 million head. That was 27,000 head above last week and 7,278 head larger than the same week last year.

Oct 26 Hogs  are at $77.825, up $0.325,

Dec 26 Hogs  are at $69.900, up $0.975

Feb 27 Hogs are at $71.000, up $1.250,
