Have Kelsian Group Insiders Been Selling Stock?

Simply Wall St·10/02/2026 20:56:50
Listen to the news

We wouldn't blame Kelsian Group Limited (ASX:KLS) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Terry Dodd, the Independent Non-Executive Director recently netted about AU$2.0m selling shares at an average price of AU$3.91. However, that sale only accounted for 8.6% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

Kelsian Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Terry Dodd was the biggest sale of Kelsian Group shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of AU$3.87. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

Does Kelsian Group Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It's great to see that Kelsian Group insiders own 20% of the company, worth about AU$208m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.

So What Do The Kelsian Group Insider Transactions Indicate?

Unfortunately, there has been more insider selling of Kelsian Group stock, than buying, in the last three months. Despite some insider buying, the longer term picture doesn't make us feel much more positive. But it is good to see that Kelsian Group is growing earnings. The company boasts high insider ownership, but we're a little hesitant, given the history of share sales. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. For example, Kelsian Group has 3 warning signs (and 1 which doesn't sit too well with us) we think you should know about.
