South Korea's financial supervisory authorities are discussing relevant measures: increasing the minimum trading unit for individual stock leveraged ETFs to 20 shares, while allowing individual investors holding less than 20 shares of this product to sell their remaining positions through after-market closing price transactions. The financial investment industry reported on the 5th that the Korea Financial Services Commission plans to announce detailed guidelines on this regulatory revision next month. This is a follow-up to the Commission's July supporting policy. At the time, it was proposed to increase the number of trading units to 20 to curb speculative trading of individual stock leveraged ETFs. Once the minimum trading unit is raised to 20 shares, investors holding 1 to 19 shares will not be able to sell during normal trading hours. As a remedy, regulations consider allowing investors to use the after-market closing price trading system to sell less than 20 fractional shares within a specified period of time.
