US President Trump promised to use his own personal funds and funds from the Super Political Action Committee to pay for video ads in response to public moral concerns raised by these taxpayer-funded advertising content. Trump said on social media on Monday: “The radical left is unhappy with my ad. I think these ads are positive publicity for the great United States, and they use American money to pay for the ads.” He added, “It's a pretty routine operation. But even if they did, they wouldn't be satisfied. Therefore, I decided to run a series of promotional content such as patriotic-themed advertisements, at my own expense and with the funds I raised for MAGA Inc.” The White House has previously defended these ads. The White House called these ads public service announcements to encourage Americans to love their country. The White House also said that Trump will not run in the November midterm elections, and these advertisements did not encourage voters to support anyone. The Democratic Party and a supervisory agency said that these videos may violate relevant spending laws. The law prohibits the use of funds for “propaganda or advocacy” purposes, and also violates ethical guidelines. At the end of last month, the supervisory organization “Public Citizen” submitted complaints to the independent Government Accountability Office and the Special Prosecutor's Office. Trump and his Republican Party risk losing control of Congress in next month's election. The presidential approval rating is at a historically low level, and people are generally dissatisfied with his economic policies. In particular, high prices are squeezing the lives of American families.
