Latvian President Linkevics announced at a press conference on the 6th that he supports current Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs in leading negotiations to form a new government. According to preliminary vote count results announced by the Latvian Central Election Commission, in the 15th Latvian parliamentary election held on the 3rd, a total of 6 political parties or political party coalitions won 5% or more of the vote and entered the new parliament. The political party coalition “Joint List” led by Kullbergs received 35.3% of the vote and won 41 seats out of 100 seats in the Latvian parliament, making it the largest political force in the parliament.
