05:12 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Porsche AG (P911.F) remains committed to its "value over volume" strategy as global deliveries in the first nine months of 2026 declined 16% year over year amid a "persistently challenging" market backdrop. The German luxury carmaker's year-to-date deliveries totaled 178,532 vehicles, down from 212,509 units a year earlier, according to a Friday release. The company noted that third-quarter delivery trends remained consistent with the pace set in the first half of the year. While Porsche 911 deliveries jumped 12% year-on-year to 42,217 units, the Cayenne remained the automaker's "best-selling model line" at 59,586 vehicles, dipping just 2% thanks to early contributions from its all-electric model. Conversely, deliveries of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman dropped 79% to 3,291 units after the production run ended in October 2025. "This high share of our top derivatives, particularly within the 911 range, highlights the exceptional appeal of our brand," said Matthias Becker, member of the executive board for sales and marketing at Porsche. "Our customers are deliberately choosing the exclusive and most emotionally engaging versions of our sports cars. This further strengthens our unique position, enabling us to serve both the sporty premium and sporty luxury segments." North America remained Porsche's top market by volume with 56,088 deliveries, even after reporting a 13% decline driven primarily by the end of 718 production and tough comparisons against strong Macan Electric sales in the previous year. Meanwhile, challenging conditions in China pushed deliveries down 33% to 21,493 units. Porsche on Wednesday announced a strategy to lower its operational break-even threshold to fewer than 200,000 units sold globally and reduce its model variants by 20% while looking to increase sales volume per remaining variant by 30% in the medium term. The Frankfurt-listed stock was marginally down by midday Friday trading.
