If you only glanced at Fortuna Mining’s headlines about mine sales, high all in sustaining costs and fresh project spending, you might not expect a positive outcome for patient holders. Holding Fortuna Mining over the past year would have returned 25.6%, including dividends. If you had been weighing that decision on 9 October 2025, with analysts split on fair value and project risk, which signals on record then would have justified taking the chance?

The shares cost CA$12.56 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Fortuna Mining then had to decide which story about the future felt more realistic.
On the bullish side, one silver and gold supercycle view pointed to a Fair Value of CA$31, a notional price if $100 silver and $4,000 gold played out alongside the production mix set out for 2024.
The sceptical case put more weight on execution risk, especially around Diamba Sud and Seguela, and used a Fair Value of CA$10.52 based on an assumed 4.1% revenue decline and a 22.5% profit margin over three years.
Fortuna Mining’s Q2 2026 numbers gave the bullish story fresh support, with revenue at US$318.4m and net income at US$75.5m compared with US$230.4m and US$41.0m in Q2 2025, and net margin rising from 17.8% to 23.7%. The board’s approval of a US$109m Séguéla expansion carried the same message. Higher spending and execution risk at Diamba Sud meant the evidence cut both ways.
The hinge assumption was whether Fortuna Mining could convert West African projects into higher returns without crushing margins. For other miners, the same test applies. Track whether each new mine or expansion eventually shows up as higher net margin alongside higher revenue in the following few reporting periods.
Fortuna Mining now trades at CA$15.57. The selected Narrative’s Fair Value sits above that level and links the gap to how far Séguéla, Diamba Sud and wider West African output can reshape the production mix.
On this view, today’s price still underrates Fortuna Mining’s ability to lift margins and cash generation if those projects and cost cuts proceed as planned.
"Expansion projects and exploration in West Africa and Latin America position Fortuna to boost production, access new revenue streams, and support long-term growth. Operational efficiencies, rising precious metals prices, and improved ESG performance collectively strengthen profitability, reduce risks, and enhance earnings stability."
