03:31 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Biopharmaceutical group Camurus (CAMX.ST) secured Health Canada's approval for Oczyesa as a maintenance treatment for adult patients with acromegaly who have responded to and tolerated somatostatin analog therapy. The approval is supported by the Acroinnova 1 and Acroinnova 2 phase 3 trials, with the first showing that a significantly higher proportion of patients treated with Oczyesa achieved normalized IGF-1 levels, compared with placebo, according to a Monday release. Meanwhile, the second trial demonstrated sustained IGF-1 normalization, reduced symptoms, and improved quality of life over 52 weeks of treatment. Oczyesa previously received marketing authorization in the European Union, the UK, and Australia.
