According to a source familiar with the matter, federal agents searched US Representative Ilhan Omar's home in the Washington area, marking an escalation in the Trump administration's investigation of the Minnesota Democrat. Tom Homan, who is in charge of border policy at the White House, said a search warrant was executed on Monday as part of the investigation into Omar. But he gave no relevant details. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice also said it had carried out a search, but did not disclose the identity of the target. Government officials said they are investigating Omar's immigration history. The female lawmaker has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the claims were untrue and politically motivated.
