According to the work schedule of the People's Bank of China, the high-value payment system will be extended. Earlier, the General Clearing Center of the People's Bank of China issued a notice in July deciding to extend the operating service time of the large payment system from the current “5×21+12 hours” to “5×22.5+13.5 hours” starting October 17, 2026, to better play the role of financial services in the real economy and raise the level of payment clearing services. A number of banks said that according to the notice arrangement, starting from October 19, 2026, the time for the high-value payment system to start accepting business on the legal working day will be brought forward from 20:30 the previous day to 19:00 the previous day; the end time of the day will remain unchanged at 17:30 on the same day. During weekends and statutory holidays, the system continues to implement arrangements relating to special working days.
