Valued at a market cap of $63.5 billion, Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) is a global medical technology company headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts. It develops, manufactures, and markets innovative medical devices used to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. Its products support minimally invasive procedures across cardiovascular care, electrophysiology, neuromodulation, endoscopy, urology, and oncology.

The medtech titan is expected to announce its fiscal Q3 earnings before the market opens on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Before this event, analysts expect this healthcare company to report a profit of $0.76 per share, up 1.3% from $0.75 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has topped or met Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates in each of the last four quarters.

For the current fiscal year, ending in December, analysts expect BSX to report a profit of $3.25 per share, up 6.2% from $3.06 per share in fiscal 2025. Furthermore, its EPS is expected to grow 3.4% year over year to $3.36 in fiscal 2027.

Shares of BSX have declined 54.4% over the past 52 weeks, notably underperforming both the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 17.3% return and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLV) 19.5% rise over the same time period.

Boston Scientific shares have lagged the broader market over the past year as slowing growth in key product lines and repeated earnings outlook cuts have shaken investor confidence. The company lowered its fiscal 2026 profit forecast in July, citing weaker-than-expected demand for its WATCHMAN heart implant and intensifying competition in its U.S. electrophysiology business, which has contributed to market share losses.

Adding to the pressure, a September cybersecurity incident disrupted manufacturing and global order shipments, prompting Boston Scientific to warn that it was unlikely to meet its previously issued third-quarter and full-year sales and adjusted earnings forecasts.

Wall Street analysts are reasonably optimistic about BSX’s stock, with an overall "Moderate Buy" rating. Among 30 analysts covering the stock, 19 recommend "Strong Buy," four suggest "Moderate Buy,” six indicate “Hold," and the remaining analyst affirms a “Strong Sell.” The mean price target for BSX is $56.92, indicating a 31.4% potential upside from the current levels.
