U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer Rochamp for the Southern District of New York extended the temporary injunction. Earlier, the White House was accused of ignoring the preliminary ruling issued by the judge and continued to post new advertisements on the White House's official YouTube account on Monday. Some critics believe that this batch of advertisements is equivalent to campaign materials using taxpayer funds. This batch of advertisements comes from a 20 million dollar contract from the Department of Homeland Security, which has cost about 19 million US dollars so far. The Ministry of Justice said it would not produce new advertisements of the same type. The plaintiffs claimed “common cause” that these ads deliberately glorify Trump to help the Republican Party maintain control of Congress in the November midterm elections.
