10:23 AM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nestlé (NESN.SW) told MT Newswires its Gerber foods are "safe and nutritious" after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the company over alleged heavy metals found in the baby food product line. "We believe the allegations are without merit," Nestlé said in a statement sent Thursday. "We have engaged constructively and in good faith with the Texas Attorney General and have provided extensive information addressing the questions raised during the investigation." Nestlé added that all Gerber baby foods meet US Food and Drug Administration requirements and applicable state and federal regulations, as well as undergo "rigorous" testing. The attorney general's lawsuit against Gerber Products Co and Nestlé USA was filed Wednesday under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
