Lee Chan-jin, director of the Korea Financial Supervisory Authority, said that South Korea's top financial regulator is closely monitoring the listing of SoliDigm, a subsidiary of SK Hynix, and believes that its potential initial public offering is a so-called “repeated listing.” Lee Chan-jin told members of the National Assembly on Monday that regulators will discuss whether this IPO will need to comply with the relevant regulations on Korean securities registration. South Korea has tightened regulatory rules for the spin-off listing of parent companies and subsidiaries to protect the rights and interests of small and medium shareholders; however, according to current regulations, regulators have no authority to prevent Solidigm from going public overseas.
