Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday that it will launch its first open earphones, named Galaxy Buds On, next week. According to the tech giant, the earphones went on sale in Korea on October 27, with only a black color scheme for the first time, and the price was 299,000 won. The GalaxyBudson has an open design that fits lightly over the ear. While listening to music and watching video content, users can still sense ambient sounds. The target users of this product include runners as well as regular users who wear headphones on a daily basis and want to hear ambient sounds. Samsung said that the product has carried out extensive simulation tests using artificial intelligence optimization technology based on four-dimensional computation, and applied ergonomic design principles. Nam Hyun-cheon, head of wearables at Samsung, said, “If the light suddenly flashes, users can call Gemini Live to refine their ideas through conversation; they can also use quick voice memos to quickly record inspiration and to-do lists, making this headset extremely useful in everyday life.” Samsung says that after the headset is paired with a smartphone or tablet, it supports hands-free AI voice commands. The product is also equipped with a head gesture recognition function, which can recognize the user's head movements, and the headphone itself also supports touch operation.
