BSF Enterprise Unit Set to Obtain US Patent for Serum-free Media Formulations

04:47 AM EDT, 10/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BSF Enterprise (BSFA.L) subsidiary 3D Bio-Tissues received a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a patent covering proprietary formulations using macromolecular crowding agents in serum-free and reduced-serum media. Upon issuance, the patent will provide protection across 17 claims covering cell culture methods, liquid and dry powder media supplements, and hermetically sealed media vessels incorporating the company's macromolecular crowding technology, according to a Tuesday release. The patent will also strengthen the intellectual property of BSF's commercial consumables subsidiary, milieu.bio, which markets and distributes CityMix and CytoBoost media supplements under licence from 3D Bio-Tissues.
