Callan JMB Inc. (NASDAQ:CJMB) on Tuesday announced the formal approval of blueprints for its planned $16 million intravenous (IV) bag manufacturing and distribution facility in Alabama.
Once operational, the company projects the facility will generate $450 million in annual revenue, which includes $300 million from standard IV bags and $150 million from premixed drug IV bags.
Wayne Williams, Callan JMB’s CEO, commented, "Approving the blueprints is a concrete step toward that objective. This project builds on our healthcare logistics and emergency-preparedness experience while supporting the strengthening of the U.S. domestic pharmaceutical production, enhancing U.S. supply chain resilience, and improving national security through medical preparedness."
Project designers incorporated automation and robotics to boost manufacturing efficiency, maintain consistent production processes, and secure quality assurance throughout the site.
Integrating manufacturing with distribution capabilities enables the company to streamline operational coordination across the production, warehousing, and delivery of essential healthcare products.
For Callan JMB, the Alabama development expands its operational role in the healthcare supply chain by supporting domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The planned IV bag manufacturing capacity also reinforces Callan JMB’s broader emergency-preparedness strategy.
Establishing a dedicated domestic source for IV supplies, backed by synchronized warehousing and distribution networks, strengthens supply continuity for healthcare providers during routine medical procedures as well as periods of heightened demand or unexpected supply chain disruption.
Through its collaborative initiative with Alabama State University, the project supports essential workforce development and increases research partnership agreements to help satisfy the technical and operational demands of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Earlier in October, Callan JMB announced progress toward establishing domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing at the Atlas Complex in Marion, Alabama, through an equipment procurement and distribution collaboration with TRUKING.
The company signed an initial purchase order and expects to make a $500,000 down payment toward approximately $28 million in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment planned for installation at Atlas.
CJMB Price Action: Callan JMB shares were down 0.52% at $1.91 during premarket trading on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
