Recently, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the 12th Conference of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, and the 6th Conference of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol opened in Yerevan, Armenia. On behalf of the President of the sixteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention, Olart, Deputy Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, formally handing over the chairmanship with Minister of the Environment of Armenia, Matvosiyan. Executive Secretary of the Convention Secretariat Schomek attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a speech. Tens of thousands of representatives from various parties and stakeholders attended the conference. Huang Runqiu, Chairman of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention and Minister of Ecology and Environment, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and reported on the Kunming Dialogue to review the progress of implementation of the “Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework”.
