If you only skimmed the early 2025 debate around NIBE Industrier, you saw analysts split between margin upgrades and warnings about tariffs, housing softness and acquisition risks. Holding NIBE Industrier from the start of the year would have returned 23.5%, including dividends. If you were weighing up those opposing calls back on 1 January 2026, what, exactly, could you have focused on to judge whether the reward justified the very real business risks?
The useful thing about a Narrative is that the reasoning is checkable: the assumptions sit beside the argument, and together they imply an estimated Fair Value you can disagree with.
If the move has made NIBE Industrier harder to judge, start where the gap is still open and scan 189 high quality undervalued stocks.
The shares cost SEK35.52 at the start of the period. At that level, NIBE Industrier sat between two sharply different stories that both looked plausible based on what was already on the table.
The bullish narrative pointed to a Fair Value of SEK45.89. It leaned on assumptions of 6.1% annual revenue growth, higher profit margins at 8.4%, and a future P/E of 30.9x supported by heat pump demand and disciplined acquisitions.
The bearish view anchored on SEK24.49 as Fair Value. That case focused on rising input costs, constrained housing markets in Europe, and dependence on government incentives as ongoing threats to profitability and cash generation.
The most telling update came from Q2 2026, when NIBE Industrier reported revenue of SEK10,849m and net income of SEK751m, with net margin rising to 6.9% from 4.9%. That supports the optimistic case for better profitability, while the cut to 6 to 8% margin guidance in Stoves after new U.S. tariffs challenged the idea of an easy margin climb.
The lesson is simple. When a story hinges on margin expansion, you focus on segment guidance and group net margin together, then ask whether both still line up with the original thesis.
NIBE Industrier now trades at SEK44.26 after a 23.5% gain from the start of the year, while this Narrative’s Fair Value sits below that level. The focus has shifted to whether stronger Climate Solutions and Element can genuinely pull group profitability higher while Stoves absorbs tariffs.
At today’s price you are effectively assuming NIBE Industrier can keep double digit organic growth and mid teens margins in Climate Solutions, so the question is how the ongoing Stoves tariff costs and slower progress toward its margin target affect that outcome.
"Although NIBE Industrier highlights healthy demand and margin contribution from Climate Solutions, the continued drag from Stoves, which is running at only 1.8–2.0% organic growth with a 4.3% rolling operating margin and still relies on a demand recovery that has not arrived, risks capping group operating margin progression even if the larger division performs well."

Once you understand NIBE, you can look sideways rather than only ahead.
Heat pumps rely on grids, buildings and regulations. Another group of businesses aims higher, building the hardware that keeps satellites and rockets working in orbit.
They design launch vehicles and the craft that ride on top, then sell both the ride and the hardware that goes with it.
The goal is simple. Keep access to space cheap and frequent enough that other companies can build their own services on top.
If that access really compounds, your watchlist might need room for very different engineering risks.
One Narrative has already put a figure on it. → Uncover the company trading 48% below one Narrative's Fair Value
