The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to Omdia's latest research, global OLED shipments are expected to reach 6.1 million in 2026, an increase of 79% over 2025. Asus is expected to remain the largest buyer, accounting for 23% of global shipments throughout the year, followed by MSI, Samsung, and Crown Jet. LG Electronics, Dell (DELL.US), Acer, and Lenovo (00992) are in the top eight. Increased competition among display brands and the expansion of OLED production capacity are driving the market growth. Shipments are expected to reach 7.5 million units in 2027 as more capacity is transferred and production is put into operation.

Asus leads the development of OLED display panels

Competition among display brands and the supply of OLED panels are reshaping the global market landscape. Obtaining a competitive supply of OLED panels is becoming increasingly important for display brands, and panel companies are also seeking a broader customer base to enhance their market position and profitability.

MSI and Guanjie are expected to significantly increase OLED display panel purchases in 2026, accounting for 14% and 12% of global shipments, respectively. LG Electronics, Dell, Acer, and Lenovo are also among the major buyers.

Asus, Samsung, LG Electronics, and Dell were early adopters of OLED display panels and were major panel buyers during the 2023-25 period. As more brands and OEMs (including Hecco, KTC, and Gigabyte) expand their OLED display panel product portfolios, these early adopters are expected to see a decline in their share of panel purchases in 2026. Despite this, they are still important customers for panel companies.

TCL Huaxing expands OLED panel supply

Samsung Display and LG Display have been major suppliers of OLED display panels. TCL Huaxing will introduce new competition in 2026 through its inkjet printing OLED (IJP OLED) technology.

Its G5.5 factory plans to begin shipping 27-inch UHD 120Hz IJP OLED display panels for MSI's commercial-grade creator displays in the third quarter of 2026. TCL Huaxing's new 8.6-generation IJP OLED factory is scheduled to begin production at the end of 2027. It plans to produce larger panels, including 32 inch and 34 inch sizes, with a refresh rate of up to 700Hz. The plant is expected to make TCL Huaxing the first company to mass-produce IJP OLED display panels at the 8.6th generation plant.

Reduced prices promote the wider adoption of OLED display panels

The decline in the price of OLED display panels is driving their wider adoption. The mainstream 27-inch 240Hz OLED gaming model dropped more than 40% in 2026. The price of high-end OLED display panels is close to the $350 price range in the first half of 2026 and is expected to reach $300 by 2027.

While gaming remains the core growth driver, professional content creation and commercial applications provide more opportunities for the adoption of OLED display panels.

Nick Jiang, chief analyst at Omdia Display and OEM Research, said: “Increased production capacity, falling prices, and wider brand adoption are helping OLED display panels reach a wider market. TCL Huaxing's 8.6-generation IJP OLED production capacity is expected to reshape the dynamic and competitive landscape of the OLED display panel supply chain.”
