State Street Bank believes that if the yield on South Korea's three-year treasury bonds rises back to around 4%, there will be buying opportunities, and the current monetary tightening in the market is beyond what the economy can afford. Choi Ji-wook, the Asia Pacific macro strategist at the escrow bank, said that unless tension in the Middle East eases faster than expected, the best entry window is likely to be in the first quarter of next year. The yield on Wednesday's three-year treasury bonds was 3.83%, down nearly 30 basis points from the four-year high set on September 28.
