Listen to the news

Indicator methodology: Moving averages are simple averages of the latest settlement/last-price observations.

Dec’26 Corn

  • A confirmed break below 450.25¢ would signal potential continuation lower.
  • Avoid adding shorts solely because RSI is extremely low; use a predefined stop and position size.

Producer hedging

  • If you have unpriced 2026 corn production, consider protecting a portion of the remaining price exposure with put options or a suitable hedge rather than committing the entire crop at once.

Jan ’27 Beans

  • For unpriced soybeans, compare buying puts with a minimum-price strategy that preserves some upside.
  • Consider incremental protection rather than a full hedge at once, especially given the oversold momentum readings

Dec’26 Wheat

  • If you have unpriced wheat, evaluate puts or a partial futures hedge to limit further downside.
  • Because wheat is deeply oversold, consider retaining some upside participation if your cash-flow requirements allow it.

My Trade Board

Market Strategy Entry/Trigger Stop T1 T2
Corn Short rally 462-466 476 450 440
Soybeans Short rally 1264-1270 1284 1240 1220
Soybeans reversal Long >1265 confirmation 1249 1282 1290-1300
Wheat Short rally 632-638 648 610 600

If I were choosing only three trades

  1. Wheat: Sell 632-638
Best combination of defined resistance and established bearish momentum, while avoiding selling directly into an oversold condition.
  2. Corn: Sell 462-466
The 7-day average at 462.57 gives you a logical technical resistance area and a much cleaner risk/reward than shorting 455.
  3. Soybeans: Wait for 1,265
Rather than blindly selling beans, I'd let the 7-day MA decide the trade. Rejection favors a short; a sustained reclaim starts building the case for a reversal toward 1,282-1,290.

I believe the key takeaway is to not chase these markets lower here. All three are already beneath their moving averages. The cleaner speculative trades are selling rallies into falling moving-average resistance, while soybeans provide the most interesting candidate for a tactical reversal if the 7-day average is reclaimed.
