When asked about the yield on some AI-related debts starting to rise to double digits, he said, “I don't think this is a problem at all because we have seen that new cloud service providers only account for a small portion of the entire ecosystem.” When asked if he would regard any future interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve as a policy mistake, Bessent said, “This is not necessarily the case.” Based on strong economic growth, he once again called on policymakers to maintain an “open mind” and consider that the impact of the energy shock on US inflation may only be “temporary.”
