The Zhitong Finance App learned that Apple (AAPL.US) released the latest 14-inch MacBook Pro and new iMac on Tuesday. Yorkville Ives analyst Dan Ives gave a positive review on this and maintained the stock's “outperforming market” rating and a target price of $400.

“The chip is the core focus,” Ives said in a report to investors. “The M6 was upgraded to a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, each with two more cores than the M5. Each GPU core is equipped with a neural network accelerator and is equipped with dual 16-core neural network engines. Apple says it can run up to 1.9 times faster than the M5. But what we're really concerned about is AI-related data: the large language model on the end is up to 25% faster than the M5, the first token generation time is up to 13 times faster than the M1 model, the memory can be configured up to 32GB, the bandwidth is 170GB/s, and the battery lasts up to 24 hours, making it the longest in Apple's Mac product line so far.”

Ives believes Apple is planning to start monetizing the use of AI on its devices in the near future.

“First, Apple stated in a note that the server-side Apple Intelligence function (including Siri AI) is limited by the number of times it can be used daily, and “in the future, it will be possible to obtain extended access to such features for a fee,” Ives pointed out. “This is the clearest statement so far, indicating that Apple intends to monetize AI directly through service business, rather than just relying on hardware upgrades. This is also an argument that the market has been slow to fully recognize.”
