IAG's Iberia to Sell Minority Stake in Aircraft Engine MRO Business to Itochu

12:56 AM EDT, 10/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España agreed to sell a minority stake in Spanish engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, or MRO, company IAG Engine Tech to Japanese trading company Itochu Corp. The deal with Iberia, the Spanish flag carrier and a subsidiary of airline holding company International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG.L, IAG.MC), d/b/a IAG, paves the way for Itochu's entry into the narrow-body aircraft engine MRO market, according to a Wednesday release. The newly established IAG Engine Tech will support the engine maintenance needs of IAG, with expansions planned from early 2027.
