On a per-share basis, the Melbourne, Florida-based company said it had net income of $3.28.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.99 per share.

The technology and communications company posted revenue of $6.06 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.89 billion.

L3Harris expects full-year earnings to be $12.25 to $12.35 per share, with revenue in the range of $23.5 billion to $23.7 billion.
