DALLAS (AP) — DALLAS (AP) — Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $1 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had profit of $12.41. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $6.64 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $4.60 per share.

The hospital operator posted revenue of $5.63 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.47 billion.

Tenet expects full-year earnings in the range of $22.05 to $23.01 per share, with revenue in the range of $22.05 billion to $22.45 billion.
