MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. (AMP) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $1.13 billion.

The financial services company posted revenue of $5.12 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $5.07 billion, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.03 billion.

Ameriprise shares have dropped slightly since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has risen 13%. The stock has climbed 1% in the last 12 months.
