Sify Technologies stock barely budged after its Q2 FY2027 release, edging up about 0.4% to ₹12.63. That muted move sits against a choppier backdrop, with the share price down over the past one and three months as investors reassess high-growth digital infrastructure stories.
The headline this quarter is not the small profit of ₹40 million. The real story is the pressure from a capital hungry buildout. Heavy data center focused capex of ₹8,573 million and trailing twelve month losses of ₹597.37 million keep the balance sheet and valuation front and center for anyone thinking beyond today’s tick-by-tick reaction.

The bullish story says Sify Technologies can turn its AI buildout into durable earnings by filling new capacity and layering on services.
"The expansion of data center capacity, now including 188MW of designed capacity and two new AI-ready facilities backed by a $371 million commitment, increases room for future colocation and AI workload revenue that can feed into EBITDA and net margins."
Q2 shows part of that roadmap working. Operational capacity reached 136 MW with 113 MW contracted for delivery over three quarters and adjusted EBITDA grew faster than revenue. Quarterly data center revenue dipped due to timing on implementation and power pass through, so monetisation is advancing but not yet smooth.
The bear case questions whether heavy investment and a reshaped services arm can stop dragging on earnings before cash pressure bites.
"Digital Services revenue fell 2% year on year and its segment result fell 67% while EBITDA remains negative, so if the shift toward recurring, AI focused services and the AI Lab and Sovereign AI Foundation offers do not gain enough traction, this segment may continue to weigh on overall revenue growth and earnings."
Recent numbers ease some of that concern. Digital Services turned EBITDA positive and Sify’s AI Lab and Sovereign AI Foundation are live, backing the pivot. The broader risk has not disappeared though. Group profit is only ₹40 million against Q2 capex of ₹8,573 million and trailing losses above ₹597 million, so expansion still leans hard on external funding.
