Hammond Power Solutions came into its Q3 2026 release as a high-expectation electrification play, yet the stock has slipped 18.6% over the past month and 8.3% over three months. That pullback coincided with a headline print that was anything but sleepy. Revenue for the quarter landed at CA$446.3 million and basic earnings per share hit CA$2.33, supported by a full-quarter lift from the AEG acquisition and a strong transformer backlog. The gap between a cooling share price and these strong operating numbers is the real story investors are now trying to price.

The bullish version of the Hammond Power Solutions story leans heavily on expanded output and the AEG platform turning into a higher value engine.
"The ramp-up and optimization of expanded manufacturing capacity in Monterrey, which has already supported record shipment volumes and contributed to operating leverage, can continue to lift Hammond Power Solutions revenue and support higher earnings as more of the enlarged $1.3b North American capacity is utilized."
Q3 results back up the Monterrey claim. Power Magnetics sales of CA$355.5m and a 34.3% gross margin show higher throughput and overhead absorption. The full quarter from AEG plus consolidated gross margin of 34.4% indicate the enlarged footprint is driving earnings power, even as backlog eased slightly as shipments outpaced bookings.
Bears focus on whether tariffs, integration and end markets might quietly chip away at that Hammond Power Solutions thesis.
"Ongoing ramp-up and expansion of manufacturing facilities, such as the Monterrey plants and the planned Fort Worth site, together with the recent integration of AEG Power Solutions, could lead to extended periods of unabsorbed overhead and operational inefficiencies. This would pressure margins and limit any improvement in net income."
Q3 data pushes back on that fear for now. Gross margin reached 34.4% and adjusted EBITDA margin was 18.8%, which points to solid cost absorption. AEG’s IES unit posted a 37.7% gross margin helped by service mix, even with softer hydrogen and offshore wind orders and Middle East disruptions tempering intake and adding integration complexity.
