If you had been weighing Lumax Auto Technologies on 30 October 2025, the debate was already sharp over how fast India might shift toward cleaner vehicles and higher value components. Investors who held Lumax Auto Technologies over the past year are up 79.9%, including dividends. Recent approval for a new mechatronics facility at Manesar and fresher quarterly numbers now frame that choice in a new light. Were early buyers correctly focused on premium content and clean mobility, or underestimating customer and technology risk?
Lumax Auto Technologies is not the only name tied to this theme. Zero in on 96 robotics and automation stocks and compare how each one is priced.
The shares cost ₹1,135 at the start of the period, and Lumax Auto Technologies was pulled between two very different readings of the same story.
The bullish narrative put fair value at ₹1,375, a price implied by assumptions of 16.0% annual revenue growth and profit margins rising from 4.8% to 7.1% by about 2028.
The more cautious case pointed to a fair value of ₹1,043, built on expectations of 12.8% yearly revenue growth but concern that dependence on a few large domestic OEMs could leave earnings exposed.
The approval for a new mechatronics plant at Manesar backed the bullish argument that Lumax Auto Technologies could push deeper into electronic content for leading OEMs. Q2 2027 numbers added more support, with revenue at ₹15,555.053m and net income at ₹1,055.089m versus ₹11,563.622m and ₹668.544m a year earlier, while net margin moved from 5.8% to 6.8%. Overall, the evidence leaned toward the optimistic case.
The lesson is clear. When a story hinges on higher value content and cleaner mobility, anchor your view to two checks. First, track whether new capacity actually targets those products. Second, watch net margin in later results to see if mix shift is showing up in the income statement.
With Lumax Auto Technologies now trading at ₹2,023, the selected Narrative sees Fair Value above that level and ties the gap to how far mechatronics and alternate fuel systems can reshape the earnings mix.
In that view, today's price still does not fully credit the idea that scaled mechatronics and CNG content could meaningfully tilt group margins and cash generation.
"The rapid scaling of the Mechatronics division, backed by a ₹400 to 500 crore order book and an internal path from roughly ₹400 crore revenue in FY27 toward around ₹1,000 crore by FY30 to FY31, can shift the group revenue mix toward higher EBITDA margin content and lift consolidated earnings as this business reaches the guided 14 to 15% margin band."
