It was another busy week for Australia's top brokers, with a number of new research notes being released.
Three broker buy ratings that you might want to know more about are summarised below. Here's why brokers think these ASX shares could be worth buying:
According to a note out of UBS, its analysts have retained their buy rating on this biotechnology giant's shares with an improved price target of $225.00, up from $181.00. The broker is becoming increasingly confident in CSL's ability to return to sustainable earnings growth over the coming years. UBS highlights that strong demand for immunoglobulin products and lower plasma collection costs should support approximately 6% operating profit growth in the company's Behring business. It also expects the Seqirus business to benefit from competitor supply disruptions and stabilising vaccination rates in the US. While challenges remain in China and the Vifor business continues to weigh on earnings, UBS believes these pressures should ease over time. In fact, the broker is forecasting a return to high-single-digit earnings growth in FY 2028, which it believes supports a higher valuation for the company's shares. The CSL share price ended the week at $200.73.
A note out of Bell Potter reveals that its analysts have retained their buy rating on this lithium producer's shares with a slightly reduced price target of $1.50. This follows Liontown's September-quarter update, which revealed weaker production and elevated operating costs at its Kathleen Valley operation. However, Bell Potter believes the company's performance should improve significantly as underground mining activity increases over the coming quarters. Importantly, Liontown has maintained its FY 2027 guidance, suggesting that management remains confident in its production plans. The broker also highlights the company's $200 million net cash position and positive operating cash flow, which should help fund its $389 million expansion project. So, with production expected to increase and costs potentially falling as the operation matures, Bell Potter sees considerable upside for shareholders. It continues to see Liontown as its preferred lithium exposure. The Liontown share price was fetching 62 cents at Friday's close.
Analysts at Citi have retained their buy rating and $28.85 price target on this cloud infrastructure company's shares. According to the note, the broker remains positive on Megaport despite recent weakness across the AI infrastructure sector, which has been driven partly by concerns about demand and financing costs. Citi points to rising rental prices for high-performance AI computing chips as evidence that demand remains strong. It also highlights recent comments from Amazon indicating that much of its computing capacity for 2027 is already sold out, with substantial commitments extending into 2028. The broker believes this is encouraging for Megaport's expanding AI infrastructure operations. It also highlights the company's manageable forecast debt levels and approximately $300 million in available borrowing capacity to support further investment. With demand appearing healthy and its shares trading well below Citi's valuation, the broker continues to see an attractive buying opportunity here. The Megaport share price ended the week at $17.61.
