TotalEnergies to Acquire 30% Stake in Two Offshore Malaysian Gas Assets

02:46 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- TotalEnergies (TTE.L, TTE.PA) agreed to acquire a 30% operated stake in the Lang Lebah and B14 gas fields located off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia, from Petronas Carigali, PTTEP and KUFPEC. The assets, planned to be developed as an integrated project, are estimated to contain more than 6.5 trillion cubic feet of gas resources, the French energy company said Monday. The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approvals. Upon completion, TotalEnergies will hold a 30% operated interest in both fields, while PTTEP and KUFPEC will each own 25% and Petronas Carigali will hold a 20% stake.
