02:59 AM EST, 11/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vivesto (VIVE.ST) secured the US Food and Drug Administration's orphan drug designation for Cantrixil to treat acute myeloid leukemia, according to a Tuesday release. The designation provides potential tax credits for qualifying clinical trials, exemptions from certain regulatory fees, and other development incentives. If approved, Cantrixil may also qualify for seven years of market exclusivity in the US. Cantrixil is in preclinical development for acute myeloid leukemia. The Swedish pharmaceutical company previously reported positive preclinical results showing anti-cancer activity as monotherapy and in combination with established treatments.
