Credit analyst Kim Sang-in of Shinhan Securities and others said in a report on Thursday that banks in South Korea issued a net bond of 14.7 trillion won last month, a record high. The purpose was to reserve funds in advance, and the pressure to issue bonds is expected to ease from November. Analysts said that the surge in the scale of debt issuance is mainly due to banks taking the initiative to raise funds just before a large number of bonds expire in November and before dividends from semiconductor companies may trigger large outflows of deposits. The report points out that although semiconductor companies' capital requirements will continue to cause deposit fluctuations, the pressure on bond supply is not expected to rise significantly from the current level.
