An industry source said on Monday that crude oil production in Kazakhstan fell by about 6% in December, mainly due to a decline in production at the Tengiz oil field led by the US company Chevron. Earlier, a Ukrainian drone attack damaged Russia's Black Sea export terminal. According to the source, crude oil and condensate production in Kazakhstan, the world's 12th largest oil producer, fell 6% from the November average to 1.93 million b/d from December 1 to 28. Production at the Tengiz oil field located on the northeastern coast of the Caspian Sea in northwestern Kazakhstan fell 10% from December 1-28 to 719,800 b/d, the source said. Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy and Tengizchevroil, operator of the Tengiz oil field, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
