Overall expenditure and revenue for the first eight months of this fiscal year were HK$496.6 billion and HK$371.9 billion, respectively. Taking into account the proceeds of the issuance of government bonds of HK$135.2 billion and the principal repayment of HK$28.5 billion on government bonds, a deficit of HK$18 billion was recorded in the first eight months of this fiscal year.
