Scientists in China have successfully built Spark-seq, an integrated platform that can simultaneously discover cell membrane surface markers and obtain suitable probes for targeted nucleic acids at single-cell resolution. This technology provides new tools for molecular identification, original target discovery, and precision medical research, and is expected to open up new treatment routes for many diseases that lack effective treatments due to unknown targets. The results of this research, obtained by Academician Tan Weihong of the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in collaboration with a team of researchers Wu Qin, were launched in the international academic journal “Science” on January 1.
