The period from 2021 to 2030 is the construction period for the sixth phase of the “Three North” project. All regions are actively exploring various control models such as “sand control by road”, “photovoltaic+sand control”, and “industrial sand control”. Focusing on key elements around physical geographical units such as deserts, sandy areas, watersheds, and mountain systems, 10 cross-regional joint prevention and control zones were planned and laid out to rationally complete management tasks. Up to now, more than half of the six phase planning and construction tasks have been completed. This year marks the beginning of the “15th Five-Year Plan”. It is also a critical stage for the “Three North” project to comprehensively advance and overcome difficulties. China will focus on the three key tasks of scientific protection, system management, and rational use, and strive to complete more than 70% of the six planned tasks and basically complete the main tasks of the attack zone by the end of 2027.
