Jiang Huohua, director of the Department of Aquatic Ecology and Environment of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that in the past ten years, the proportion of Class I-III water quality in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has risen from 67% in 2015 to 96.5% now, an increase of nearly 30 percentage points, and the main stream of the Yangtze River has maintained Class II water quality for 6 consecutive years.
