After being invaded by the US and the president and his wife were kidnapped, people from many parts of Venezuela rallied and paraded on the streets for the second day in a row on January 4 local time. In the capital Caracas, the daughter of the late former President Chávez delivered a speech calling for peace and justice and urging people to defend their homeland. Venezuelans attending the rally said that Venezuelans are no one's puppets and do not accept any imposed puppet regime. What the US did was “blatant aggression” and demanded the immediate release of President Maduro and his wife.
