According to the Inner Mongolia Daily, recently, the first batch of pilot projects for energy storage in the autonomous region, the Bayannaoer Hetao new energy storage project, was officially connected to the grid in Houqi in Urad, making it currently the largest single independent electrochemical energy storage power station in China. According to information, the project has a capacity of 1,000 megawatts/4,000 megawatt-hours. It supports the construction of a 220 kV energy storage booster station connected to the Hetao 500 kV substation. The energy storage unit uses long-term lithium iron phosphate cells, which have the advantages of high safety, long life, low cost and environmental protection.
