On January 5, Phillips 66, a US integrated downstream energy supplier and sustainable aviation fuel producer, announced that it has agreed to acquire the assets and related infrastructure of the UK's Lindsay refinery. The transaction is completed after meeting delivery conditions, including routine regulatory approvals. Lindsey's refinery assets and facilities entered the liquidation process in June 2025, and Phillips 66 has been the special manager of the assets since the official receiver was appointed as the liquidator. Meanwhile, Phillips 66 announced plans to integrate the asset into its Humber refinery operating system. The company said that after a thorough evaluation during the bidding process, it decided not to restart the independent operation of the Lindsay refinery. The evaluation showed that due to its size, facilities and production capacity, it was difficult for the refinery to continue operating under the current model.
