Pre-orders for the first batch of consumer-grade laptops equipped with the new chips will begin on Tuesday, and will be available worldwide starting January 27. According to Jim Johnson, senior vice president of Intel, laptops equipped with the new chip have greatly improved in terms of performance, especially when running artificial intelligence software. Intel first introduced “Panther Lake” technology in October last year. “In 2026, the entire industry and Intel are at a strategic inflection point,” Johnson said. Artificial intelligence “is a huge opportunity for all of us.”
