Venezuela's interim president, Delsi Rodriguez, said on the 7th that Venezuela is open to energy relationships that “benefit all parties.” At the National Congress leaders' meeting, she said that Venezuela should maintain relations with all countries in the Western Hemisphere, as well as Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. She stressed that Venezuela will not give in to any form of aggression. Rodriguez hosted a high-level working meeting in the capital Caracas on the same day and deployed three policy priorities: one is to continue to seek the return of President Maduro and his wife; the second is to strengthen security throughout the country; and the third is to ensure the continued normal operation of the national machinery. Also, according to a report by the US “Wall Street Journal” on the 7th, the US government is drawing up a plan to control Venezuelan oil and is trying to reduce the price of oil to 50 US dollars per barrel.
